GoPro Hero8 + Connection to app [ New ]

We have the latest GoPro Hero 8.  In addition, the iPhone Xr.  We've tried the pairing, we've tried doing a USB cable, but the camera just does not transfer well!  The best and ONLY way we were able to transfer pictures efficiently was by taking out the sim chip, put the chip in an adapter, and load it on to the computer directly.
