I am totally new to this and i bought the hero 8 and i use a oneplus one smartphone with lineage os 16 (android 9). The support said the gopro app which is available in the play store is not working with lineage os, and it won´t install either. Finally in an other software-store i also found a working version 5.2.1 but it´s only until hero7 (but i can´t install a newer version of it because of the incompatibility of my phone with the app). I managed it to install and after the app searches for cam the app says unknown camera found but the connection was successful.
New problem: after that it asks for password and i reset the connection and typed in the new shown camera-passwort and it connects...and connects...and asks me for password again.
Besides: i can´t find the hero8 in my wi-fi settings of my phone.

The tip is not helpful because i know the standart way to pair. But i have problem with that way
so as i described...
you all have still an eye on this...and beside i will contact the support agan

It would be odd for you phone to not be able to download or install the GoPro App when your phone clearly meets the compatibility requirement. To gather more details, does your phone use a non-English language? When you attempt to download the GoPro App from the Google Play Store at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gopro.smarty&hl=enhttps://play.google.com/store/ap... , do you get a particular error message? Hello @daninorm. Which camera model do you have? Which phone are you using and which OS is it running on?
Make sure that your phone is updated to the latest OS and that you have the latest version of the GoPro App installed. After the updates, restart your phone, clear cache (cache only, not data) on the app settings if accessible, and try pairing with the camera again. Once paired, try viewing your GoPro footage.

and after i used your link, this is the message in play store i receive:
"the device is not compatible with this version"
