thanks for the video. the thing is my gopro does not keep the video upright like yours does even though i have the settings set just like you do. yes, i know this sounds crazy but its true. on the display when i shoot and move the gopro around, the image stays upright but when I play back the video it is not.

I’m at skiing at a ski resort and I’ve just fine tune my new boots liner(tongue position, fine tune forward position) (that kill my feet this morning).. drinking a beer and reading what is new in the gopro.
I’ll try to give a view here.
think Landscape orientation as the one that does not know Portrait, and can be normal and upside down
think All orientation that allows Portrait as well
all I describe should be done before start capturing.
once capturing is started the gopro will retain the original orientation had when filming start.
as long as the camera is almost vertically rotated works fine.
sometimes when oriented horizontally the orientation is puzzled and here the lock orintation make sense.
I use this days the camera mounted on my backpack... If I put the gopro horizontal to film my legs work, I might have strange orientations therefore I lock the orientation landscape normal position always when backpack mounted.
Preferences >> Touch Screen >> Orientation
if Landscape gopro does not “know” Portrait.
gopro will switch automatically between Landscape (only) normal or upside down if you rotate it.
in the short menu you will see a rectangle with up and down arrows.
so, you can lock the orientation the gopro is but only landscape normal or upside down.
once locked the aspect remains, no matter how you rotate the gopro.
if All gopro knows all orientation.
in the sort menu you will see a rectangle with four arrows.
once in either orientation you can lock the orientation.
again, the orientation remains no matter how you rotate the gopro.

I have gone thru the menu over and over but no matter what changes I make to the lock icon or if I switch from all to landscape
anything i record , on the camera screen it stays upright no matter how I turn it but when i watch the video its not upright.
in other words, is as if the lock function was not working at all....
