GoPro Hero7 Black AV videostream
[ New ]Recently I bought a Hero 7 Black.
I'm flying drones since a long time and now came to the idea of using the GoPro for filming purposes.
Sadly the GoPro has no AV-Out anymore.
I need the AV for implementation of the telemetry and sending it via 5.8ghz. The wifi of the GoPro just has not the range I need.
Now I have found this converter
https://m.de.aliexpress.com/item/32815424005.html?pid=808_0003_0105&spm=a2g0n.search-amp.list.328154...
But after reading this article and it's following link
https://community.gopro.com/t5/Cameras/Hero-7-black-live-streaming-hdmi-out/td-p/316183?profile.lang...
I was not sure anymore of my project.
Is it just possible to have live hdmi while recording if I record on 720p or is it just the live video which is in 720p?
What do you think, will this setup work?
Thanks for any answer and have a great day!

Re: GoPro Hero7 Black AV videostream
[ New ]Good luck with your drone project, however GoPro won't be able to help you with this one as it uses parts and devices which are not manufactured by GoPro and therefore unsupported by GoPro.
You can however find info on how to use various GoPro's for drone use and hopefully modify the needed hardware for your particular drone use:
https://www.hackster.io/user1085757683/gopro-hero-5-6-7-black-control-with-3dr-solo-9df7aa
As GoPro stated in the link that you gave
"HDMI output are as follows:
- Output of live preview is at 1080p
- Output while recording is at 720p
- Playback up to 4K from recorded media"
This means that while the camera isn't recording, your live preview via HDMI is a maximum of 1080P. When the video is recording, the maximum resolution you will get from a live stream via HDMI is 720P. If you playback recorded files via the HDMI, the maximum resolution will be 4K.
