It states on the back of the box that the Session comes in that the settings are accessed through the remote or GoPro app. However, it does not list what OS is required so I understand why people with older devices might feel frustrated.

GoPro has clearly marked what is to work, and it's up to the Operator to gather the info needed to simply run their product, if he is not fimular or does not take the time to learn the camera issues come about,

I have the same problem, and NOWHERE in the Hero 5 Black Documentation does it say anything about this.
Lucky I have an iPhone, others without will not like the capture feature quite so much.
