GoPro Hero4 Session - Wifi/RC connectivity issue

Hi, I have been using my hero4 session successfully since 2016, and usually I just use the top button to stop/start recording, even though I have the android app and gopro smart remote.

 

This week I tried to connect my GoPro to my Android 10 device (Sony Compact) and also my tablet through the gopro app. However, even when I select the 'app' connectivity or 'add new' my android devices I can not pair with the gopro. The countodown appears fine on the gopro to connect and the light flashes when activiating, but it cannot connect. I have resinstalled the latest firmware; reset the wifi on the gopro, deleted all previous settings for wifi & bluetooth on the android devices and also gone through the support links and followed these. I also cannot see the gopro as a wifi device from my windows laptop - I am assuming I should be able to.

 

Also, I am unable to pair my gopro with my gopro smart remote so it looks like the RC is also not working.

 

HAs anybody else had this issue or been able to fix this. I am thinking it is probably a hardware issue and I am thinking of taking the gopro apart to look, unless gopro has a repair service, but I do not know where the antenna device would be. Any help would be appreciated.

Regarding the GoPro App, have you tried pairing the camera with another phone?
