I'd like to record some of my notes:
it seems like the movie is not sharp enough though. I am taking it from roughly 20cm distance. I do have extra light shining on.
I have noticed tho that in some cases the go pro does super sharp movies under certain conditions but I cannot reproduce these.
How to set the gopro for this kind of recording? Thank you.
btw i am using protune-go pro colors, high contrast, spot meter on, 1080 - 30fps resolution, linear view.
Thank you again.

The GoPro uses a fixed focus lens. It's an action camera designed for capturing "action". It's not suitable for upclose (20cm) note taking due to the fixed focus lens. You could look at 3rd party solutions that could do a lens swap for you, however it would be cheaper to buy a webcam with an adjustable LCD focus that would be able to take upclose footage for you. It's a simply a case of using the wrong tool for the job.

I totaly agree with you on this one but I have already got video with good sharpness from the gopro I just cannot reproduce it again for some reason.
Maybe if I add some more light, increase the distance and set narrow view. that could work.
I have feeling like the camera gives me the best shots when the lights points on an objects while the bacground is slightly darker.

Try turning Protune off and enabling the spot meter. I would also move the camera further away and like you said, adjusting the FOV to narrow. You may also want to make sure Auto Low Light is disabled.
