GoPro Hero 8 Black Losing 2nd half of file after 5:20 Bug (video included) [ New ]

I am able to replicate this pretty much everytime.   Shoot in 4k 100mbps with quickcapture.  You will see the gopro loses all video info after 5:20.  

This only seems to happen when quickcapture is being used.

UPDATE: Bug is still occuring regardless if quicktime is being used or not.    

Can any1 else comment and run tests on their unit?  

Start a 4k recording on a freshly formatted sd card at 100mbps.   Stop the recording around the 8:00 mark.

5:20 is the chunk in 4K 100MBps gopro saves.

I've just recorded 9:20 min without issue, 5:20+4:00

4K 25fps SuperView Hypersmooth on, bitrate high.

I too had this problem. I can confirm that shooting 8 minutes at 4K 4:30 100 bits works fine if not using QuikCapture - the files are recorded and divided into two files properly. For my uses I'll just avoid QuikCapture until GoPro addresses this in firmware. Which I hope they will do, as this bug renders QuikCapture dangerous, i.e., unusuable for 4K.

Thanks for the tests rob.  May I ask you to try 1 more test (in 4k 30p wide) and stop the recording around the 7:40 mark. Additionally do this on a freshly formatted sd card

I am using this card which should have 0 issues. 

I contacted gopro support and they opened up a case in regards.   

Ill let every1 know what the outcome is.
