I have a new GoPro Hero 7, updated to the latest firmware (v1.51).
I'm trying to import files to my Mac.
I plug it into my Macbook Pro via the USB-C port, then turn on the camera. The camera then switched to USB transfer mode, and stays stuck on this screen. Impossible to access the files on my Mac, either via Quik or Image Capture, and if I turn off or unplug the camera, it stays stuck on this mode (even after being unplugged and "turned off" with 5 beeps, I still see the USB icon on the front screen and USB connect on the back).
I basically have no way of get my files...
I have tried the following:
- with/without battery
- with a different computer
- with Quik (Camera appears connected, but no information on the camera is displayed, it seems to be loading but never actually loads any information like camera name, SD card capacity, actual files etc.)
- with Image Capture (Hero 7 shows as a connected device, but no file appears)
Solved! Go to Solution.

Thanks a lot for the response. I have tried that but it hasn't solved my problem. I want to callout that my problem is different though. The camera is freezing/crashing. For example I cannot see the actual space used in Quik, and the camera becomes unusable as soon as it is plugged in.

We appreciate you getting back to us @epicwave86077
This issue has been raised to the team in charge.
As a work around, you may import the files using an SD card adapter.

I also am having trouble... Quick does not even recognize my GoPr7. I attach the cable, open Quik, turn on the camera.. "Import" never shows up.
Tried on two different Imacs.
Reset camera to Factory... no change.
So far... very dissapointed.

I had a similar issue with my Hero5 and Session... Crazy question, but are you using the cable that came with the camera? The reason I ask, on my Hero5, I didn't use the cable that came with the camera, just used some cheap phone cable, but as soon as I tried the same thing with camera's OEM cable, it worked. Just confirming that you are having the issue with stock cable to help rule out that issue.

Thanks for the reply !
Yes currently using the supplied cable. It works on the charger, but will not register the camera on the Imac. If I remove the card from the camera, it works fine with Gopro Quik right away in the Mini card adapter... so i'm pretty sure it is not the card... (No failures after 4 days of testing)
Tried 3 cards and all same result.
Cable works with the charger to charge batteries
Reset the gopro to factory multiple times..
When I plug the camera into the Mac, it does not register that it is even there.
frustrating as hell haha..
