GoPro Hero 6 cable charger fried

Hi there
I was abroad and wanted to charge my GoPro Hero 6 at a camp ground with the USB charger, plugged it in and walked away, suddenly when I came back there was black smoke and the cable metal part had fried itself into the camera. Is there anyway this is under warranty as I only bought it last month ? If I have a GoPro subscription will that help too ? Can I get it repaired or replaced ? Thanks

Just to be clear:

For WARRANTY - If you were using the GoPro Super Charger AND GoPro USB-C cable or GoPro Power Pack AND GoPro USBC-C cable, only then it's it covered under warranty.

However,

GoPro Plus members - You are entitled to up to two cameras replacements, no questions asked, per year. There is a processing fee, but you can replace your camera.

Since you have a subscription, it's sounds like you'll be able to get your camera replaced 😊

It's up to you. 

Our team might be able to send it to your location though if ever it will end up on replacement. 

But you may contact them via phone or chat and we'll see what will be their decision.

Ok, sorry but I don’t have a subscription and was wondering if I get a subscription now would I still get a replacement ?

I think if you set up a GoPro Plus account you will still qualify, but you should check with the GoPro Support Team for verification https://gopro.com/help/ContactUs
