Does the GoPro Hero 6 do even better stablization when running at 1080P since there are extra unused pixels the camera can use to stablize an image? I wonder if there are any comparison video sonline with 1080P vs 4K stablization

From the manual, "The more narrow the FOV, the greater the effect of Video
Stabilization." While this speaks directly to the FOV it makes sense to expect better stabilization with lower resolution as it gives more unused area on the sensor for the camera to use when applying stabilization. 4K uses the entire sensor while 1080 is using the middle portion.

Thanks for pointing that out in the manual ... I never thought I would look there because most products don't put that level of technical details in there.
Pretty cool that the narrower the FOV the better the stabilization - it's good those "unused" pixels are not wasted :)
