Information leaks on the Hero6 have been absolutely stagnant now. Hardly any new info apart from what most of us already know.
the CNET website link still has the specs that kind off line up with the leaked back box cover.
Really dissapointed the YouTube videos of the unboxing were taken down.
In Singapore here, sources say the release is around September 29th as well.
i held out on the Karma Grip due to the bad reviews, and hopefully with rumors saying that there will be a new grip introduced, i may get this finally.
count down started.

For Hero 6 everything seems to be disclosed:
* Same battery, same outside, SOC from Ambarella replaced with "own" GP1 design (rumoured to be from SocioNext)
* 4k60, 1080p/240, 720p/240
* Stabilization works with 4K/30 (not 60 fps)
* 2.7K is still max for LINEAR VIEW
* Faster 5 GHz WiFi.
* No revolutionary features like "live streaming" implemented
Sadly neither the box or the leaked info says anything about audio improvement or possible bluetooth mic.
As for the Karma Grip. It's not bad. Some competitors have the joystick wich makes it easier to follow certain targets and movements. It's mostly missed when you need to turn up/down from the horizon, but the orginal Grip lets you do that if you press the tilt button and move the complete Grip handle.

I often film in 4K or 2.7 even though I making a 1080 edit. The reason is that it give you the posiblity to zoom, pan and reframe shots. Quite a bit acually. Saved many a missed / offset shot.
Also 4K inot 1080 does give a nice video.

Sadly, I'm not impressed with the Zoom. It seems good so far.
But For me I use the Hero 6 for video much much more than photo.
the Photo is ok but it's the video I use it for.
That said. To zoom, you must first choose your zoom then hit photo or record.
You can't zoom while recording. Why? I mean if I'm recording, I want to be able to zoom while I'm recording. I don't want to stop recording then zoom and then record again! Plus the zoom is unexciting.
Here's the video showing how it works and why I don't like it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0W3GKfstxr0&feature=youtu.be
