GoPro Hero 2018

Hello, I need help. I have a problem with uploading videos from my GoPro camera to GoPro app on my Samsung Galaxy S9+. The uploading takes too much time. For example - for a video with duration of a 10 minutes it takes a 30 minutes to be uploaded. Please let me know if there's any faster way to do this.

Can you help us with the following information: SD card, camera version, GoPro App version, phone OS version.

Do you still have enough storage on your phone?

Please try clearing the cache for the GoPro app in your device's settings under the "Applications" section.

Okay, so:

GoPro app version - 7.1(9595)

SD card san disk ultra 32 GB class 10

Camera version - 01.10

Phone OS version - Android 10

 

I've cleaned the cache on my phone but there's no change so far.

Ultra cards are not recommended to be used with GoPro cameras. They may work initially but they are observed to cause issues with the camera eventually. It is best to use one of the recommended cards on the list here:

SD Cards that Work with GoPro Cameras

 

Once you have access to a recommended card, please make sure to run a manual update.

I bought a new micro SD San Disk extreme pro (sdsqxcg-032g-gn6ma). I've updated manualy just like you said, but problem seems to still be there. I even downloaded the Go Pro app on another phone - iPhone 8+, but the time for uploading the videos was the same. 

Can you remember anything else that can cause this problem?

Were you at home when you tried to transfer the files?

To help isolate this, would you mind testing this in a different environment?

 

If you haven't yet, try putting your phones to airplane mode before pairing/transferring the files.

Also, make sure that there are no other apps running on the background.

 

You may also send us a sample file via Dropbox.

I will try to replicate this.
