GoPro Doesn't Connect to App

I've tried all of the support instructions listed here on the website. It did work once but has gone back to doing what it was doing before. No PIN shows when I attempt to pair it with my phone via the GoPro App.
It feels like the network interface for the camera could be faulty.
It is a few years old but has had very soft treatment, I would have though I would get more than 4 years out of a $500 camera.
Any support would be great.

A manual update should help resolve this. https://gopro.com/en/us/update

Make sure to work on a formatted SD card.

Once done, proceed with the pairing process.
