Just an observation but when you go out cycling, you don't want to take your newest Android device in case it gets broken.
You take your older devices with earlier Androids back to say 4.4 to do things like Strava so it doesn't cost so much to have to replace the device when you hit the dirt.
Arbritarily choosing to restrict compiling the app to Android version 7 or above thereby preventing use of older Android devices to even allow simple remote control was a really dumb decision.
Especially given how easy it is to compile back to earlier versions of Android.
