GoPro 7 Black - GPS data inaccurate - cycling
[ New ]Hi GP,
I've started using my GP 7 Black a few days ago, hoping to be a good replacement for my previous action cam with GPS.
And, even though the video quality is much better than the other one, the GPS data is waaaaay off.
I've been recording GPS data using 3 different devices:
- GP 7
- Garmin Virb XE
- Smartphone
and to be honest I'm not sure if my GP7 was following the same route as me (and other 2 devices) :/
During my daily commute I have to stop a few times on red lights - for good half a minute, and according to GP GPS data I was all the time cycling 25kmh+
From my point of view it's pointless to have a cam with GPS, when GPS recorded data is not in sync with the video whatsoever.
When is it going to be fixed?

[ New ]Hi @karod33271
What application did you use to overlay telemetry?
See if the same happens when using RaceRender or Dashware.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

Re: GoPro 7 Black - GPS data inaccurate - cycling
[ New ]I've used GoPro Quik.
Also tried VIrb with GPX extracted GP video, but apparently I was cycling over 160 kmh.
I can see better results with RaceRender and Dashware.
GoPro Quik is sooo off, like if data wasn't synced with the video at all.
But I'm not keen on buyign additional software (RR), I think GoPro Quick should be fixed.

Re: GoPro 7 Black - GPS data inaccurate - cycling
[ New ]The same problem with Quik for mobile.
Sorry to say, but one of the reasons I've bought this camera is GPS, and such problems disqualify the product for me.
Using RaceRender or Dashware would kinda work for standard videos, but none of them will work for Hyperlapse videos (TimeWrap).
