When I am recording a video it takes 4 mins for the bottom front panel to get hot to the touch and at 6 mins the whole front panel is hot to the touch and when I try to turn off the camera it is unresponsive or has eractic behavior of flashing menus.
Had it recording in the car for 1 hour yesterday and the whole camera was hot to touch in the frame. Eventual it turns off. Well at least for now.
The difference made by changing record setting is the quickness of camera life.
Example: 2.7k 4:3 60 linear 41 secs = 1% chrg loss
: 1440 30 wide 72 secs = 1% chrg loss
i don’t know if an update would fix this. Not to mention the grainy pics as mentioned on previous posts. I have never owned a GoPro before and I already heavily in accessories, so I am not sure what to do. I feel I should return it. Any ideas or experienced opinions would be appreciated.
btw the karma grip is excellent.
i find it quicker to recharge with wall charger ( GoPro Intntl)

UPDATE: I took my camera back to the store and the clerk said it was a circuit based problem. Sometimes as simple as a connection bleed. He replaced my camera and it doesnt get hot like the previous one nor is it eratic in its behavior. . So my advice to anyone that gets one that instantly heats up hot to the touch..return it.
As far as the grainy picture etc. I am still waiting on the November update. Half of Nov. is already gone. tic toc.
