GoPRO 8

[ New ]
  • MY camera is turning on and off by itself.
  • Burns through batts like cold beer.
  • Will not connect to wifi or the app /android version anymore
  • Worked great 2 days ago. Shot for 8 hours on and off
  • Was on location and an update would pop up during the day but could not stop to download it.That is all I am trying to do now and SOL. on all fronts.
  • Anyone?????

@strykerbuilt, sorry to hear about the trouble. Make sure that a recommended SD card is used for your camera. Reinstalling the firmware update of the camera can help correct any errors with the current software installation. Follow the Manual Update instructions specified in this article: https://community.gopro.com/t5/en/How-to-Update-GoPro-Cameras/ta-p/394229

All boxs technically tiked thus far for SD card, temps etc.

I want to update the camera, but it will not connect :) 

I am going to do a total reset.

I already dumped app from my phone. Will re-install everything and start over. Over.

@strykerbuilt, you'll need an SD card adapter/reader to connect your microSD card to your computer to perform Manual Update. Please see the attached article for more details.

Sounds exactly like my new GoPro!! The battery life is terrible!!! My years old GoPro 3 still lasts longer. Its making me regret getting this Hero8 totally and signing up to this plus program where my trial is about to end.
