Please see if resetting the camera will work.  Reset Camera Settings
If it's still the same, proceed with a manual software update. https://gopro.com/update/

Hi aragon1006. I have already tried what you suggested as I mentioned in my post. Is there likely to be a firmware update soon to resolve these issues? This is my first GoPro and so far it looks like it’s going to be my last.

Try turning off your wireless connection. That solved my issue. It's a shame you even have to do it but this is one glitchy camera LOL

Have the same problem, even with voice commands off.  After reading all the responses here, I tried toggling the wifi connection.  It worked.  Inconvenient, but not a game ender for me.  Hope a future firmware update will address this.

Hello @gregnoto. A new firmware was released yesterday. If you haven't yet, make sure that you update your camera to the latest firmware. Let us know what you observe regarding the random powering on after the update. Firmware download is available at https://gopro.com/en/ph/update/hero7-black .

Thanks @mariustanya. I actually unboxed and updated the firmware yesterday. Camera does not prompt that any other update is available.
