Re: Go Pro hero 6 footage video black with sound ( windows 8.1)

hi,

sadly the latest GoPro Quick does not work in Win.8.1

I have the same issue.

the Quick 2.3 is the last one that was written for Win8.1

make a google on Quick GoPro 2.3 you will find download links

the latest I have is 2.3.0.5383

there are some to consider though:

https://gopro.com/help/articles/block/hevc-minimum-system-requirements

- Quick will not play HEVC videos

- actually Win8.1 cannot play this h.265 codec files.

- if you want to play a h.265 video

https://gopro.com/help/articles/block/hevc

...you have to install DivX player

- you still can convert the h.265 files in h.264 (non HEVC) files using HandBrake, and then edit them.

https://gopro.com/help/articles/how_to/how-to-convert-gopro-hevc-videos-to-h-264-using-handbrake

search also handbrake on this forum, I wrote in the discution

4k 60Fps GXO files not viewable after import

on page 2

an extended explanation how to obtain almost the same quality after conversion.

hope helps a little,

robert

Re: Go Pro hero 6 footage video black with sound ( windows 8.1)

Old Quik is not useful for 4k video recording . Yes i understood about h.265 codec sadly , old quik/go pro studio is not helpful in detecting 4k videos from app and for that i dont want to update to win 10 - time consuming , hardware drivers , all settings .

And  using Handbrake is time consuming process , you lose motivation of quick editing your footage after your trip or some as you have to covert again via Handbrake then edit .

I could'nt find your post on " 4k 60Fps GXO files not viewable after import" . Seems like converting videos on Handbrake is only option left .

If you could ping the post , if would be helpful
