Go Pro Session 5 burning hot

Go pro session 5 - just bought it- on vacay, worked great for about 3 days. Today worked for about 6 short videos and then died. Thought it was just an insufficient charge last night but won't charge now while plugged in and gets very HOT while plugged in. The view screen looks smudged almost like a water mark. Didn't go more than a few feet underwater. Used the housing frame so the charging door never unlatched. Is it toast? Is there hope? I have formatted, turned on and off 1000 x. Charged w and w/o the SD card. Tried the computer and a wall charger. All to no avail! Frustrated and currently ON vacation!!! Ugh. Any other help would be greatly appreciated!!

What make and model SD card are you using?

Did you try to reset it by pressing the mode button for at least 10 sec?
