Go Pro Session 5 Recording stops with error Connection Lost

Hello

 

I have a Go Pro Session 5 and it is having some issues. When recording video or attempting to take phone it stops with the error Connection Lost and turns iteself off. I have checked the firmware which is 02.51.00. Do I have a faulty camera or is there a way to fix it?

I see, @fireystorm61232. As Fishy mentioned, have you been able to try out an update on the camera's firmware? If you have not done it yet, try manually updating the camera's firmware even if the camera already has the latest firmware. This is to ensure that errors with the current installation will be cleared out. You can do the update by following the instructions below: 

  1. Go to the HERO5 Session update page.
  2. Under "Other ways to update" at the base of the page, click "Update your camera manually."
  3. Enter your Serial Number and other requested information, click Next Step.
  4. Click "Download Update."
  5. Click "Click here to download firmware."
  6. Follow the steps on the screen for detailed instructions for your operating system

Make sure that your camera is fully charged and that the SD card is formatted prior to updating. Let us know how it goes.

your cameras wifi is turning off, are you certain its on  what other actions did you  do? to  see if its the camera?   factory reset, reload firmware. etc...

Thanks for the response but it is not the wi-fi turning off. I am using the camera, with out Wi-fi on and I receive the message and it then the camera turns off.
