Go Pro Max files are corrupted!!!

Why are most of my Go Pro Max files corrupted?

They work on the camera!

The camera is running the MAY 2020 firmware.

Go Pro Quik, sees about 10% of the files 11 of more than 165 on the SD card.

ALL OF THE FILES PLAY FINE ON THE CAMERA.

FEW OF THE FILES CAN BE USED ANYPLACE OTHER THAN THE CAMERA.

JPEG FILES FOR EXAMPLE dont work to transfer or after copied manually!. JPEGS!

ALL OF THE FILES PLAY FINE ON THE CAMERA BUT DONT WORK ANYPLACE ELSE.

THIS CAMERA IS USELESS. I CANT RELY ON THIS CAMERA!

FIX IT or TELL ME WHERE TO GO TO GET MY MONEY BACK!

I don't think GP Quik plays 360 files.

You need GoPro Player to play the files.

Re: Go Pro Max files are corrupted!!!

Its not a player problem!

I have the latest player and QUICK software installed.

After transfering the files they are corrupt and dont play in any software.

Not even the JPEGS, not the normal MPG4 video files.

About half of the 360 files show up to transfer, but ALL OF THE 360 files WORK.

I did find a workaround.

Dont use the GO PRO software AND THE CAMERA to transfer.

I put the SD card in a USB reader and manually copied all of the files NOT USING THE CAMERA OR GO PRO SOFTWARE

and i got the files off the card.

This is silly the camera shows 127 items, the software sees 65 items.

3) using the software does not transfer all of the files. it only transfers some of the 360 files

2) quick software does not even see the JPEGS and MP4 files and does not transfer them

1) most importanly - i cant use the camera as a card reader to get the files off of the camera.

The only way to make it work, is to remove the MICRO SD CARD put it in a MICRO SD READER and MANUALLY COPY THE FILES.

If you use the provided transfer software or use the camera as a SD Card Reader the files dont play back in any software, NOT EVEN THE JPEG FILES!!!!   SOME OF the 360 files work but the quick software does not see or transfer all of the working 360 files.

This is terrible experience, terrible hoops to get the video someplace it can be even viewed let alone edited.

Re: Go Pro Max files are corrupted!!!

Sounds like your pc has a USB driver problem for that device. I use my max on a 6 year old laptop and a retro pc and it connects no issue at all. You may need to update some drivers on your pc

Re: Go Pro Max files are corrupted!!!

None of the 360 files play in the go pro player.

This MAX thing is a waste of time, time to figure out how to get my money back...

Re: Go Pro Max files are corrupted!!!

Hi @fastspirit42318

360 files are not compatible with Quik.

When copying the files to your computer, it is best to use an SD card adapter.
