Go Pro Hero 7

Good evening, the Go Pro Hero 7 was purchased for me as a birthday gift this year. Since receiving the device I have had multiple issues with it. The first issue I experienced was the screen on the camera being stuck. Multiple times while trying to record the camera would freeze and not be able to be used. The camera would be stuck on that screen until the battery was taken out. That ties into my second issue. The battery in the camera is very hard to remove. Multiple times I have had to let the camera battery die and charge back up in order to use it. I’ve become frustrated because I know how pricey these cameras are and I should not have to go through all of this in order for it to function. Please provide feedback to help me with this matter.

There are two things to check. First, let's make sure that your camera's firmware is up to date. The best way to do this is to do a manual update. Instructions for doing a manual update are at https://gopro.com/en/us/update/hero7-black.

 

The second thing to check is that the SD card you're using in the camera is compatible with your GoPro. We have a list of recommended SD cards at https://gopro.com/help/articles/block/microSD-Card-Considerations. If you have another card that's on this list, please try that card and see if helps resolve the issue.
