Don't make it personal, I won't call the police, but "you" are. And by you I mean Samsung and Gopro. Channel 161 5ghz, wich Gopro is using, is not allowed in Europe unless 25mW are used, and they are using like 1000mW transmission power. Again, it's not about you. It works for you, congrats. For the brands that are following the rules, this channel is not usable. Gopro should allow us to change the channel of the 5ghz wifi or, at least, use another one being used in most countries, not in the US. They are not the center of the world. Sorry americans.

i understand what you're saying...but as my drone work with 5Ghz in Italy there're a lot of other things allowed to use 5Ghz...the only one locked was the Hero 6...the problem is the channel used and i believe the hero7 it not locked as the Hero6..at home as at work we use 5Ghz router to maximize signal coverage without any problem

I don't care about your drone or Hero 6. Hero 7 is channel locked and channel 161 is not usable by my phone as many others. Google it

5Ghz doesn't maximize signal coverage, it improves speed. In fact, 5ghz wifi doesn't "go as far" as 2.4ghz. Google it. Your router is not using, FOR SURE, channel 161, and that's what we are talking about.

Mine work...don't be ungry about this :D
a good 5Ghz router allow to maximize both band width and output power to prevent walls ( 5Ghz is harder than 2,4Ghz with walls..this means more power needed...without obstacles 5Ghz can cover a longer range with better performance ); i see this every day with standard Vodafone Router and Professional NetGears.
I just tried my older S7 Edge and it work as Note 9 with 5 Ghz...Hero 6 don't
but again.....don't be ungry,
try to undersand why then write something ^^
or maybe GoPro has released a prototipe only for me :D

Thank you ,
but seriously, actually my hero7 work fine with 5Ghz...it's strange for me too

Now. That's a constructive answer.
-It'll work on iPhones, already tested. In a X and Xs. If you succeed to connect to a Huawei just let me know.
-I believe you do. I could make it work too rooting my device and unlocking wifi bands, because now I can't even see the wifi of the gopro if not on 2.4ghz, but I don't feel like doing it I can only see the wifi if I'm on an iPhone.
Just let me know
