Hi I have the same issue, apart from when I plugged my SD card directly into my PC it said there was an error. I clicked 'do nothing' and tried to view the files, no luck. Tried connecting via USB and through phone.
For a while it said there was 3gb used but now it all empty and even when I try to look at the photos on the GoPro itself, it says there a no files to view...
Help please! Anyone have any ideas?
It had all my photos/videos from this year including holiday snaps :(

What SD card are you using?
Are you still able to play the files directly on the camera?
Have you tried downloading the files via the GoPro App?

Have you tried connecting the microSD directly to the computer?
You may have to use some data recovering apps when plugged directly into computer.
Do not use this card until you recover because it might overwrite you videos and make them permanently unrecoverable.

Hi, sorry for delay. @aragon1006
So I started by plugging the SD card (it's a SanDisk Ultra 64gb micro SDxc 4?) directly into my laptop's (I'm running Windows 10) SD card slot, as I've had problems before with the GoPro software.
When I plugged it in, warning notice popped up saying 'There is an error with XYZ drive, do you want to fix it?' I clicked the X on the pop up.
I was able to see the directory on the card, there was roughly 13gb of ~64gb used. I think I was able to scroll through some of the files. But trying to view them full screen ended up with the photo app not responding. After that, the SD was not viewable in My Computer.
Then I tried plugging the SD card into a USB card reader, I was able to view the folder, and it said there was still the same amount of space used on the card. However when I tried to click into the folder, there was no files to view, and explorer said the drive was empty (There was a GoPro folder but with nothing in it. Although it said 3gb was now used)
I tried again through the SD card slot in my laptop but now saying some mb was used. Then I tried all the suggestions on this thread, connecting through phone, troubleshooting the driver etc etc. Nothing.
Tried through the GoPro software too, no files to view.
I started looking at recovery apps but there are many, are there any that you would recommend?
