Fusion studio

I am trying to use gopro fusion studio with this new fusion, but the program will not run adequately. The computer has an 2.2 GHz intel core i7 processor with 16GB RAM. Am I going to have to look into better computers. If so, where? I'm not looking to break the bank to edit these videos.

Re: Fusion studio

You want Windows 10, i7 or better processor, 16 (32 is better) RAM, 256 or bigger SSD (don't get 128GB SSD, it's too small) and NVIDIA GTX 1050ti (minimum) GPU. The bigger the SSD the better, so if you can get a 1T SSD cheaper than a secondary drive, do that. If not, only get a hard drive if it is 7,200 rpm (don't get 5,400 rpm).

As far as where.... you just need to shop around. Desktop are generally cheaper than a laptop with the same specs and you might be able to do a custome build. If you must have a laptop, the Lenovo Legion Y7000 looks to be a pretty good deal.

Re: Fusion studio

Thank you so much! I will look into that laptop. As far as the desktops, I am willing to go in that direction if they are cheaper. Are there any you might recommend? I would be willing to build a computer, but I know nothing of the area and feel that might not be the best avenue for me.

You will get a lot more for the same money if you get a desktop. I don't have any brands that I can recommend, but if you have a computer store in your area, they should be able to help you build a good video editing computer. The area where you can save the most money is when choosing your monitor. You do want one that will display true colors, but don't be pushed into overspending on a 4K monitor. Bigger is better for video editing, or utilizing two monitors, but 1080p is fine for resolution. Your priority is a good motherboard that will allow you to expand your RAM. It's fine to start with 16GB, but you'll probably want 32GB or more later. Get an i7, or even i9, but stay away from i5 and i3 (these are just i7 processors that didn't pass benchmark testing). SSD for storage is going to make you much happier than standard ceramic plate hard drives, but if cost needs to be cut, get at least a 256GB SSD as your main and a 7,200RPM hard drive as your main storage (you will want to work with files on the SSD, including saving, and then move your finished videos to the hard drive. Do get a good GPU. NVIDIA are going to work best. The minimum you want is a 1050ti, but you will get more years of happy use from a 1080 or better. If there price difference is only a few bucks, get the 1060 over the 150ti.
