Frozen with USB CONNECTED on screen

[ New ]
New camera. Just plugged into my lap top, download videos from camera, deleted from camera, removed camera from lap top.

Now frozen with USB CONNECTED on screen.
Tried turning off
Tried reconnecting to lap top, not recognised
Plugged into charge, nothing.

I bought this specifically for a very important vacation and event next week....

Hi @boldrange82042,

You can press and hold the Mode button for about 8-10 seconds to hard reset the camera. Upon reboot, it will ask you to set the camera up again.

Freezing issue in a camera is usually an indicator the camera's software needs to be updated or there is potentially an issue with the microSD being used. Try removing the SD card and see if the camera still freezes up. If it no longer freezes, then the issue is likely stemming from the SD card.

You can get the full list of microSD cards that are known to work well with GoPro cameras here.

It is also advisable to format the SD card before use. (NOTE: Reformatting the SD card will delete all data off of the card, so be sure that you save any videos or pictures you want to keep on your computer before reformatting the SD card.)

Once the camera is back on, I advise to re-update the firmware as it can help correct any errors with the current software installation. Follow the manual update instructions specified on this article: Software Update Instructions for HERO7 Cameras

Hopefully this helps!
