just an update regarding this dilema.
I have taken the GoPro and the SD card to a computer/gaget store. This baffled them aswell until they checked the SD card and said it does have 64gb of memory however, it was not running at nearly the speed it should have been for a class 10 and believed that this was the problem.
I did purchase another card in the store this time a SanDisk Extreme Plus 64gb. Immediatly this worked without any problems.
The corrupt/damage card will be returned to the well known online shopping store with the request for a full refund.
