I am still hopeful that they will find a fix, but if they can't or won't, then I would want a refund. I love all the other features of the camera, but if I can't get decent sound while using it in an action setting, then it is not worth the price. I think if they can't fix the microphones, then they should develop a wireless microphone and provide it free of charge to Hero5 Black owners. For all the ruined videos due to the unusable audio, they should throw in a Karma grip as well.
I've got three videos on YouTube demonstrating the audio problem, and a number of people have said they are not going to buy the Hero5 Black after seeing them. So if GoPro does not want to keep losing customers they need to address the issue.

I will say this" IMO: today I went walking I shot in HD1080@60f, with audio on wind. with the frame case. I used a tree limb a stick we call it say 4 ft tall as thick as 3/4 inch about to 1in the most sorry I don't do metric. and I taped to the stick wit hte buckle clip not to tight a wrap or two, so yep when I rotated. the stick what do you think you hear.. not much of sound wit hthe stick....
wood absorbs. and what do I use to listen to a bad compressor in a car???? a stick as wood allows traveling of noise an old trick, so what I just said is a Oximoran thing. maybe the pole you are using is hollow and why sound travels with echoing? Just saying. I have the clip on my channel coming up if you like to watch soon good luck calle into the woods part one
