First GoPro Setup

Hello everyone, just got my first GoPro, the new Hero Black 5 and was hoping to see if there is anyway to set it up to get the most out of it. I used mainly all the default settings but wasn't sure if there are any other ways to set it up to get the best picture without taking up too much storage space.

Right now when on 4k30 with a 64GB SD it only will record about 2 hours and if I put on 1080p120 or 1444p60 it only goes up 40 minutes. I do plan on getting a 128GB but I can't find any info on anything higher than that, will it also work with 256?

I want to be able to do some night time time lapses and photo timelapses and probably some hour or so long videos, not all at the same time of course.  Are the default settings good enough with it or what tweaks should I do to get everything out of it that I can?

Thank you

Re: First GoPro Setup

@ccigas - It depends on what you want to capture. For everyday shooting, I keep mine at 1080p30 and Linear. If I'm doing something really active, I up that to 60fps or higher. If I think the video I'm capturing is something I'm going to want to use well into the future or for a special project, I might up my resolution to 2.7k or 4k, but most of my stuff is shared online, so 1080 works well enough for me.

Thanks,

Jeff
