File saving & IS (Hypersmooth)[ New ]
What I've recognized is: when the IS is turned off once you stop the video recording the file saving is instantaneously and the GoPro is immediately ready again. Versus having the IS on it taking several seconds 3 to 4 to complete saving the files and the GoPro being ready again.
Could it be that the IS is a post processing feature?
If so, this may be an explanation why I'm losing footage (freezing video while audio is still playing and working). There's no indication why the GoPro is doing this. Although, perhaps cold temperatures?!

Hello, @mayk87888. The temperature could have an impact considering that using the camera in extreme temperatures (cold or hot) can affect the battery performance. For cameras that feature unique high-performance video modes: 2.7K and higher resolutions, and/or frame rates above 60fps, it is normal for the camera to become warm and use more power when using these modes.
Is your HERO7 Black updated to the latest firmware? Which SD card are you using? The information on the brand, capacity, and type will be helpful.
Which resolution settings have you tried? What temperature was the camera exposed to while filming?
