Problem is easy to solve: Just cut out a little piece of plastic in the size of the mode button and tape it with double sided tape on the back of the Gimbal. Then put the GoPro in and after you've tightened the screws just loosen up the lower screw a tiny bit and you'll be able to push the GoPro against the plastic part. That way, you can simply use the mode button.
