Fault recording with Hero 7 Silver

Purchased the Hero 7 silver last year for touring holiday with family, from the start it would only record for a few minuets then stop, it wouldnt save what it had recorded so when you restarted it you lost anything recorded, on advice of other gopro users, i changed the memory card to a recomended Sd card, still no better, reset the device, uploaded the new program still nothing, worse still couldnt return item as outside the 30 days, now left with a new gopro which dosnt work, any advice or help would be greatfully appricated,

@spirysand87627, sorry to hear about the trouble. This is an unusual behavior of the camera.

 

What's the microSD card used?

You can also try formatting the SD card. (NOTE: Reformatting the SD card will delete all data off of the card, so be sure that you save any videos or pictures you want to keep on your computer before reformatting the SD card.) 
 
Reinstalling the firmware update of the camera can also help correct any errors with the current software installation. Using an SD card adapter, connect your microSD card to your computer and follow the Manual Update instructions specified in this article: https://community.gopro.com/t5/en/How-to-Update-GoPro-Cameras/ta-p/394229 

 
Additionally, performing a factory reset in the camera may help.

Thanks for info, re formatted the SD card which was recommended for use in this gopro, reset factory setting but still the same, recordes for 5 to 10 seconds then File repaired comes on screen then the camera switches of and goes through a restart. any other suggestions, would be greatfully accepted.    apart from bying another one lol
