Failure to record
[ New ]I use a hero5 black and recording my normal commute (40 mins) works fine, however, my return journey normally corrupts after approx 12-14 seconds. This happens on a daily basis, however, waiting for the camera to turn off and then restarting the recording allows a recording to be made.
on odd occasions the camera freezes and I have to hold the power button until it turns off completely, after which it will then normally record.
ive tried formating the sd card but the same issues persist.
is this a fault with the camera or something else?

Hi @warrenr16510,
May I know what is the brand and model of the SD card?
Also have your tried reformatting the SD card and installing new firmware?
Thanks,

Re: Failure to record
[ New ]Hi @warrenr16510,
It seems that the SD card that you are using is not highly recommended for GoPro cameras. To consistently achieve the best results with your GoPro camera it is important to select microSD cards that are known to work well with your camera.
Please click this link to see the list of recommended SD cards.
Many Thanks,

It will be best to get the card with this specification:
SanDisk Extreme/Extreme Plus/Extreme Pro UHS Video Speed Class 30 (V30) - ≥32GB
Thanks!

Re: Failure to record
[ New ]Hi Rei
im having trouble sourcing the cards recommended on the link, however, it does mention about sandisk extreme/plus/pro cards that are v30. Does this mean that any sandisk extreme/plus/pro v30 card would work as long as it’s over 32gb?
thanks
