External microphone attached: internal microphone still works. [ New ]

Hi

I have an external microphone attached to the GoPro 7 Black. The internal microphone still picks up the ambient noise that the external microphone is used to avoid. How do I turn off the internal microphone? Should I select powered mic + so that the other sound is suppressed by 20 dB? Or should I select Line In?

If this will not work with this camera, can it work with 8 or 9?

Are you using the 3.5mm mic adaptor?  You'll need that to attach a mic to the Hero 7 - you cannot plug a mic straight into the camera.  If you are using the adaptor, I'm not sure how to help sorry.  It would be worth stating the exact model of the mic to see if anyone else has a suggestion
