Editting MAX 360 Footage in Premiere Pro

OSX Macbook Pro Mojave

Got the MAX

Took some sample videos,

Connect it to laptop

Pull the .360 video files off

Install FX Reframe (Adobe Plugin by Go Pro)

I can't add the files to my premiere bin.  It is saying that the file format is not supported.

I can see the plugin (FX Reframe) in the effects panel.

Any ideas anyone?

On a side note, if i connect the camera to the laptop and try and use GoPro Quik to transfer the media file it can't see any files on the camera.  But they are clearly there.

Thanks for any help people can provide.

I've upgraded OSX to 10.15 Catalina but it doesn't work.

If anyone can get this working please do let me know how.

RE: Editting MAX 360 Footage in Premiere Pro

GoPro just released this thing called MAX exporter a few days ago.

https://gopro.com/help/articles/block/GoPro-Max-Exporter

It has to do some pre-processing first in order to have premiere-compatible files ready.

Thanks for the reply.
It looks like that tool is only for windows.
I've since managed to use the go pro player app on OSX to view the files and then export parts I want.
I'm going to do more testing to see of I can export the whole file and then work non destructively with it in premiere.

Oops, haven't realized it's for windows only. Sorry about that.

Where did you find GoPro Player for Mac thou? It's not GoPro VR Player, right?

I got it here:  https://gopro.com/help/articles/block/GoPro-Player

Its called GoPro-Player, but its job is to play and export 360 videos.

You can frame your footage much like the app on a mobile device.

I'm currently testing exporting the videos using this app to ProRes 5.6k and then using Premiere and that plugin GoPro are providing to try and frame the footage inside Premiere.

Incase anyone is following this or follows it in the future.

You can export the footage as 5.6k from GoPro-Player (which takes a while depending on length).

Or you can simply rename the file extention .mp4 which allows you to import directly into Premiere. *CORRECTION* This does work but doesn't stitch the footage correctly.***

Both are giving different results so i'll update when i get somewhere productive. At the moment the footage iv'e taken isn't usable in a project i'm working on with these current tools.
