My mac is not recognising the new hero 9 when I plug in usbc , I get usb connected with gopro connect underneath .
My old Hero 7 as soon as you plugged it in and opened in photos and it was showing in the left hand column.
I have nothing coming up anywhere , so only way is to remove sd card and plug into computer , surely this cant be right .
Mac problem or a gopro problem ????

Same issue for me. It isn't recognized on my PC or my MAC. I can hear that it is connected on the PC & it clearly notes that it is in USB connection mode...but it doesn't show up on my available devices/drives.

Well, it should work but my Hero 9 doesn't. Both the Mac and GoPro recognize the connection but the both the file manager and the GoPro Quik app don't show any file at all. If I remove the SD card and connect it to the computer then the the files appear.

if you are using mac, use image capture
Works a treat
Indeed.. Thank you. I seem to have solved my mistery. The GoPro Quik was detecting my Hero 9 but strangely it was not saying my SD card space, hence always reporting 0% usage when if fact, I had many files in it. Every time I disconnected the USB cable the camera got frozen...
I reformatted the card and all is OK now. I can now download the files directly from the camera and it doesn't freeze.
Hope this helps.
