Directories on SD card

Hero 5 Black. How does Gopro define when to open a new directory ? I have on my SD card the following directories: 100GOPRO ,101GOPRO and 102GOPRO. I was shooting in Time Lapse.

When does Gopro build another Directory ? How to control it ?

Re: Directories on SD card

What camera are you using @bluecave40477?

It should retain the last setting/interval you have selected.

Also, make sure you are on Time Lapse mode.

Tap on the Settings icon on your GoPro app.

This should bring up the Time Lapse settings.

Thanks!

Ej

Re: Directories on SD card

Hi @bluecave40477

The SD card creates a new folder every time it reaches 999 files.

Thanks!

Re: Directories on SD card

Hi @aragon1006 ,

Thx. you are correcct.

I shoot many Time Lapse stills which consume many images.

Is there a way  direct Gopro to start a new directory prior to my shooting Ttime Lapse ( via the camera itself or from the App [Android or IOS] ) ?

Re: Directories on SD card

Hi @bluecave40477

That's how it works for now, a new folder gets created after 999 files.

You may have the files sorted out to different folders through a computer instead.

Thanks!

Hi @aragon1006

Thx.  for your answer, although performing the manual classification on the computer is time and error prone !

Re: Directories on SD card

Hi @aragon1006,

How can I reset the sequence numbering of the images to start from 001, 002 etc. It seems it continues from the last number (although I formatted the SD Card).

I also noticed that when I set a time-lapse to a certain value (1sec. or 2 sec.), it doesn't retain it after i turn-off  the Gopro and turn it back "On".

Also I can't find in the Gopro App (Android) how to set the time-lapse interval, and i have to go to the Gopro and set it there.

Thx.
