Hi all, I am travelling at the moment and my lens cover on my GoPro 7 is cracked. I have tried to buy a replacement one with no luck. I can’t but one online until I return home.
I am going on a 5 day snorkling trip and hoping I can still use it? Is it still waterproof with the cracked lens?
I will obviously be replacing it when I get home but can’t while travelling.
Love your feedback/ advice .
also is this covered by warranty??

Considering the cost of the camera, I certainly wouldn't risk it. Any crack in the lens cover could post a potential leak hazard. As for being covered by your warranty, I doubt it, but you could always ask GoPro support.

@wookieehawk, so long as all camera doors are closed, HERO7 Black is waterproof up to 10m (33ft) with or without the lens protector. However, without the lens cover, water may accumulate on the lens affecting your footage. The lens cover is good to keep on as protection from bumps, etc. If you have the SuperSuit, it can also be an option for you given the situation.

@wookieehawk, yes the camera will still be waterproof without the lens cover. However, as previously mentioned, this adds protection to the camera. If you will be using the camera without its lens cover, I suggest to ensure that you keep the camera from bumps, crash, etc., that can directly scratch or damage the lens.
Also, if you urgently need to get the Protective Lens replacement, you may be able to find this accessory at various retailers. If you're located within US, check this Store Locator guide to find authorized GoPro resellers near you: https://gopro.com/store-locator

@wookieehawk, I ran into similar situation before with my HERO5 Black camera. Feel free to post back if anything else comes up. Stay stoked, and have fun capturing moments using your GoPro!
