Connection with iPhone frustrated serial number not recognized

Connecting my Hero 3 with iPhone 6s does not work. Going thru the site, I have to continue by filling in my serial number. This number is not a valid number, it says!  Connection has worked in the past. I use my Hero infrequenty.

 

I cannot continue with no working serial number. Please help.

Kindly double check your camera's serial number.

Remove the battery and locate the white/silver sticker inside the battery bay. Your serial number will be 15-characters in length, and begin with "HD3."

 

Here are the steps in resetting your camera's Wi-Fi settings: 

  1. From the HERO3 update page click "Start Update" to begin.  
  2. On the first page, enter your serial number and registration information and then click "Next Step."
  3. On the next page, select 'Wi-Fi Update Only' with the blue check mark and click "Next Step."
  4. On the next page, enter your new camera name and password.
  5. Follow the rest of the on-screen prompts to complete the rest of the update process. 

Once the reset is completed, proceed with the pairing process.
