Color anomaly Hero6 Black - pink colored sky
[ New ]Hello! I'm new to the community!
I've been experiencing some issues during with my month old Hero6. In several of my photos and videos the sky gets sort of a pink hue(as the attached photo grabbed from a video shows). It seems to happen when the sky is really bright(lots of clouds for example) and videos are most prone to the issue.
As for settings I haven't used PROTUNE, stabilization is enabled aswell as auto low light.
Does anyone here have experience with these issues/tips to solve them?
Thank you in advance!

Re: Color anomaly Hero6 Black - pink colored sky
[ New ]Do you know what your White balance settings are?
If set to auto it could be that the camera is adding more red to the scene because it thinks that there is too much green/blue. If you have it set to a specific value then the lower the value (meaning the light is warmer - sunny and summer days) the more blue it will add to compensate, the higher the number (meaning that the light is bluer - winter or overcast days)the more red it will add.
I'm not sure where this was taken but if it's in the north then the being winter and the angle the sun comes through the atmosphere filters out some of the red and green light givine natural light a bluer look plus the fact there are alot of blues and greens in the scene which could trip the camera into adding red to counterbalance.
You said thet it happend when the clouds are bright e.g. clouds - this would help filter out red and green plus the sky would be a more white colour with roughly equal amounts of red, green and blue. When the camera adds in red to compensate for the apparent cast this white will turn pinkish.
The camera also plays with the colours upping the saturation if it is sel to Gopro Color which can make the pink sky worse.
If you use video / photo editors to edit your media you could set the white balance to native so that it doesn't try to compentate and also set the colour profile to flat. This preserves the most details in the photo/video and you can then use your editing software to adjust the colour yourself.

[ New ]For more information about Protune settings, you can see my answer to another person's question (it was about using filters, but I go through all of the settings).

Hope it helps.

Re: Color anomaly Hero6 Black - pink colored sky
[ New ]@jay-ellThank you so much for the extensive explination! I haven't got to try it out yet, but I think the problem lies in the WB and color as you say.
As stated I wasn't using ProTune, so everything was on auto, creating the problems you describe. I will take this into account for later and stick to native WB and flat color when neccessary.
And thank you aswell, @danielr15! I took a look at you post and it was really helpful. I will mostly stick to editing my videos, so then those settings are ideal. Looking forward to test it out!
For reference, the picture is taken in Taiwan, close to Taipei!

[ New ]Awesome! I'm staying here for 10 months as an exchange student, but I think even that won't be enough to explore everything. The island is amazing, with so much to do!
Haven't gotten to Taroko Gorge yet, but I've heard the rumors!
Thank you!
