Change video preset with protective housing?

I'm using the Hero8 with the protective housing while Scuba diving, and wondering if it's possible to change the preset Video (or Photo) settings while it's in the protective housing?

I know how to change from Video to Photo etc, but want to be able to change presets that have different white balance settings, frame rates etc if possible.....

Cheers

Re: Change video preset with protective housing?

Make sure you have all of your possible desired configurations already created as presets. Once the camera is in the housing and turned on, press the Mode (side) and Shutter (top) button simultaneously. On the front LCD you will see your presets listed. Scroll through the presets using the Mode button until you get to the setting you want. Press the Shutter once and then scroll down with the Mode button until you get to EXIT. Press the Shutter and the camera will return to normal, but with the new preset.

Re: Change video preset with protective housing?

I haven't tested this, but on older GoPro cameras, when in the settings menu, you could long press the top shutter to exit settings. If this works, then just scroll to the preset you want, press the shutter once to select it and then long press the top shutter to exit. It's worth trying so you don't have to scroll down to EXIT each time.

Re: Change video preset with protective housing?

Cheer!

Didn't even think to try that as the 8 doesn't have the third button, but pressing the shutter + power/mode does bring up the presets menu!

Thanks for you help! 👌🏻
