Case 05015081

[ New ]

I'm trying to use Quik for a simple operation which seems to be impossible. Here is the minimum that I need

1. Add gauges and resize/reposition

2. Save the whole video

I can't save from the view menu (even though I can share which is not what I want; share should at least have an email option) and if I open in Create mode, it wants to take part of the video, not all of it (more than a minute long)

Is there a solution??

That is the minimum. What I would really like to do is:

1. Shorten the video at the beginning and end

2. Add gauges and resize/repostion  (doesn't work after shortening in Quik)

3. Edit gauges for font color and other colors

4. Save the video

Pretty basic but apparently whoever designed Quik never thought of using a GoPro in a car for motorsports where we need the whole run.

Hopefully you can help; Ivy on the support line today sent me the tutorials but they only talk about taking highlights in Create mode which is worthless for me.

Thank you

William Gilbert

When you trim the video you should be able to add gauges (as long as GPS information was recorded in the MetaData). You don't need to trim the video if you don't want, but you do need to save it as a new video with the gauges).

A better solution is to just use RaceRender or DashWare. Both are free. RaceRender is a more solid program and has more options but you do need to pay for it if you want longer than 3 minute videos. https://www.hptuners.com/product/racerender/

Thanks. RaceRender works great: picked up the gauges easily (no separate data file needed) and a lot more (and better looking) options. I don't know why anyone would use Quik: I'm removing it from my machine.
