Can't get GoPro to stream to Windows PC. [ New ]

I am trying to use a Hero 4 silver to stream for youtube live. I bought a micro hdmi cable and connect it to the PC but it doesn't show up as a video device in youtube studio or in OBS software.

Can anyone advise? I thought this would be easier.

Are you sure you bought a microHDMI cable and connected it to your pc?  Or did you buy a USB Type A cable and connect it to your pc?  The reason I ask is that most HDMI cables won't connect to a pc, they need to connect to a video capture card first and the capture card connects to your pc.

Or are you trying to connect your micro HDMI cable to your HDMI out on the pc?

Yes, it's a HDMI to micro cable. But now you have me thinking, the HDMI port on my Dell is probably out only. That's why I read about everyone going to a capture dongle that goes USB into the PC.
