I just tried to convert .360 files through MAX exporter, and I realized the checkbox for 360 audio is disabled all times, and I couldn't find any additional information on this (the i icon does nothing).
Is this prevented to be checked intentionally?

Same here. After all the advertising of the amazing 6 microphones for the most immersive sound ever, why will none of the exporters allow you to export the 360 audio for editing? Have tried the Max Exporter on the PC and GoPro Player on the Mac. Can't quite understand why there are so many combinations that exclude it however when Prores isn't selected and neither is world lock or horizon level - why is it still not there? Confirm setting is definitely to 360 audio and recording was done inside (in case wind cancellation reduces the audio to stereo in some instances).

exactly the same here .
As described in another thread yesterday.... there is absolutely no option /combination to get the promised 6ch / ambisonic sound.
Even when it would work in the OSX-GoPro-Player it would be superannoying, if it would only be able by deselcting the worldlock .
That would mean : either shaky unusable videofootage with spherical sound , or stable video only with stereo sound.
That cannot be explained by technical reasons.
Why are there 2 totally different softwarepackages for OSX and Win? They totally working other from each other.
Why is there no batch-option in the OSX-Player , while there is one in the windows version......
I'll hope Gopro has good excuses within the next 2 weeks , or I send it back and try another Insta360 product.
And now I'm gonna check my just made side-by-side videoquality camparison fusion-max-hero7black....I have a bad feeling...

No, it's not available under any combinations. Neither H264 nor HEVC .. not with selected or deselected of every /any option.
It is as well not available regardless Win10 or OSX 10.14.
I tried as well every thinkable combination of recording settings in the max itself... noise reduction : auto / off / low whatever......there is no sound either recorded in the max or both softwareversions fail.
This most annoying if you read the realesenotes of firmware version 1.30 (the newest), where there it is clearly announced:
- Fügt 5,6K30 und 5,6K24 Video und 5,6K TimeWarp hinzu.
- Ermöglicht 360°-Audioaufnahmen und -verarbeitung.
so, Gopro...where is it / how does it work ?
very interesting !!
I just found out, the the recorded clip *.360 really containes 6 ch of audio.
There is one audiotrack (audio1) that containes a stereotrack
and a second one
(audio2) that contains 4ch audio .
The 2nd channel is even PCM-audio !!
That sounds promising.
The challenging question is now.....how to access it by exporting to an editable format (I am talking about ProRes or Cineform).
That clearly means , the problem lies inside the desktopsoftware (Gopro-player or Gopro-exporter)......
...that should be fixable by an upgrade or a new software .... in fact I would prefer something like the exporter which gives me the optop of batch-exporting on the MAC-side.
