Can a GoPro be set up as a trail camera? [ New ]

Want to set up a Go Pro on a trail where animals are known to move, and want the video to start when there is an animal in motion in the frame. Is that possible?

Unfortunately it is not a feature of the camera. You can set up a Night lapse, but having the camera turn on when it detects motion is not something the GoPro camera is designed for.

With Firmware, Motion detection can be done.  All GoPro has to do is enable it or write t othe firmware most cameras today have it on the  firmware?

If hours on end you are going to have to have a trusted camera that uses a   set  USB  port that allows unlimited power not    on standby to charge,  charge while recording..  this would not  be the best camera for a lorg term trail recording.
