It would be nice if someone from GoPro would give us an actual answer and not "this is all the information I have" like chat and phone gave me, after giving me instructions to reset the camera, which is NOT what I wanted.
Those of us who have numerous GoPros the HERO 5 Black is VERY ANNOYING that we can't change ...
THE CAMERA NAME
Was no problem doing this on previous cameras but on this one you force us to use this stupid long hard to remember name ...
I would like a response from someone at GoPro that actually knows what they are talking about and isn't going to give us the run around. This is very annoying how your customer support is literally worse than a phone company.
The only thing I can think of as a reason, is maybe you're using it as a hostname and this is a side effect of the stupid plus program you're trying to get recurring income on ...
I used a generic title because you probably wouldn't have read this otherwise.
Maybe i'll have to start my "trial" to get the "premium support" to see if it actually is "premium" and not just another person to give me the run around

This was already answered months ago, I believe it was @jefft or @mattb that provided the information. I can't remember the reason given, but basically it comes down to this: You cannot change the camera name.
There is no point in complaining here or asking why, it is what it is. This is a user support site. If you want to initiate possible change, e-mail the Support Team. https://gopro.com/help/PKBContactus Use the drop down in Step 1 and select, "Idea Submission".

Thanks for the reply, but in my searching I didn't find anything besides what I already mentioned, and yeah you're correct ... user support site ... i'm trying to drum up user support for figuring out why this isn't possible, because I know i'm not the only one.

You also might want to join or create a group and direct people to it to discuss changes you would like to see https://community.gopro.com/t5/groups/page/node-id/category%3A131 It's a new feature of the Community Support site. It hasn't seen much action yet but it's a nice feature GoPro gave to us.
