Many users have found that by using the SuperSuit, it helps to trap the cameras heat and thereby extend the usage. Of course, always keep spare batteries in a warm area (close to the body is best) when used in a cold environment.

Extreme cold and extreme heat will kill a battery rather quickly. However it's also possible for your gopro to run down it's own battery even though it may be fully charged before use. This can include leaving the WiFi turned on and leaving the voice commands turned on. If you are not using the GPS, also turn this off as it will help extend the battery life. If you plan on filming in extreme cold, using a case on your camera will help keep it warm and functioning.
