Happened to me 3 times now. I love gopro 7 black but I'm losing confidence in using it :(
Gps, wifi, quick capture, voice command are all off, i manually update to latest firmware.
Is my camera faulty?
I've had lots of issues still not resolved,
freezing when connected to smart remote,
i turn it off but lcd is on.
I've tried talk to chat here but most time all busy, ive search didn't see same issues like mine.
If I re-flash second time would it be ok?

Hello @shotsofredmist. There is no harm doing a re-flash of the firmware but unless it was not done correctly at first, it is not really necessary. By any chance, do you have a different SD card that can be used, specially one on this list?
Also, see if the battery performs at par with the expected battery life by performing the steps here . Should the issue remain, let our Support team help you with further troubleshooting. You may connect with them by phone or chat. When you do, you may direct them to this thread for reference, so you also do not need to repeat steps that you have already done. Let us know how it goes.

@shotsofredmist, your time and partnership throughout the process are very much appreciated. In addition to what has been suggested, battery discharging can also be caused by noisy non-GoPro chargers. Using our USB-C cable will prevent this.
If the problem persists, you may let our Support team know through https://gopro.com/help/ContactUs so they can help you on the next troubleshooting steps.

On 1080p 60 i get to 22 mins till it freezes, very hot to touch, maybe overheated.
I tried 4k 30, i get to an hour and still have 30% battery left.
But the camera specially around the lens it feels very hot.
I always use 1080p and if get overheat that's not good for me.

@shotsofredmist, when using 2.7K and higher resolutions, and/or frame rates above 60fps, it is normal for the camera to become warm and use more power when using these modes. Lack of airflow around the camera and using the camera with the GoPro App can also increase camera temperature and power consumption, and decreases camera recording time.
You can check this article https://gopro.com/help/articles/block/hero7-battery-information for the full list of estimated continuous recording time of the HERO7 cameras.
If your camera is getting a run time that is significantly shorter than the expected battery life, despite you using a recommended SD card https://gopro.com/help/articles/block/microSD-Card-Considerations and the camera being updated to the latest firmware version, you may perform a short record time test through the instructions here https://gopro.com/help/articles/solutions_troubleshooting/Short-Record-Times .
If the problem persists, you may let our Support team know through https://gopro.com/help/ContactUs . Please let them know about the troubleshooting steps already taken.
